In the beginning, mostly first 30 min, I believed 14 Blades is going to be your usual gong fu flick. Then the bricks started to fall in places as emotions, disguised and shy as usual in good Chinese movies, got out step by step. Donnie Yen let his character's fatigue and pain show more and more, avoiding the old, tired cliché of invincible master of so - many forms. He killed his way inside Jinwey, starting with his brother as young, orphaned children put to test by unforgiven 'official assassins', sponsored by the state. Along the way you meet the Judge of Desert, kind of unidimensional character, but Wei Zhao and Kate Tsui stole most of the scenes they play. Wei, remarkable in Mulan, is here a soon-to-be wife and she uses perfectly her shyness and big eyes to convey more emotions than a sword can do. Not that swords and chains don't mix, as Kate Tsui' Tuo Tuo stealthy killer can prove. The final battle is the best seen in years, especially when Green Dragon and Tuo Tuo die together and HOPE is the real message this movie want to share. Hope, despite loss, pain and solitude.

In the movies, polygamy describe without prejudice, just go with the flow, allow viewers to decide is Polygamy a good thing or a bad thing? It has 3 sides of the story. First, a wealthy doctor woman who found out that her husband have more than 1 wife. Second, a rural girl in the city & marry her supposed to be uncle or something (I kinda forgot :P) live in a small house with his other wife & kids. Third, a young Chinese girl fall in love (or in lust?) with her boss who happen to be married. The maker of the movie no doubt have her inspiration from the scene and music from Wong karwai movies, or those kind of typical movies, but still have her own style.

About polygamy it self: Some of the people that conduct polygamy said that they want to help other by marrying them (save them from poverty), some of them said that it's better than cheating (because it's allow by the religion & it's not perceive as sin. For me polygamy is a disguise for satisfying a man Lust and his Greediness. Even if he said that to save from poverty, the first reason always got to do with his "Penis". In Al Quran it self said that a man can conduct polygamy only if it fair to the wife (especially the first wife that 100% will always refuse "dimadu"/ polygamy, that's why the man always never ask for permission to have a second wife with his first wife, because they will says no!) so, it's not a fair deal isn't it.

At first Karthik doesn’t believe it and tries to find from the phone company office if such a call actually came. But no such record is shown. Then again same time next day that’s 5 am in the morning he gets a call again with Karthik calling at the other end.

Intrigued he gets talking to him. The caller sympathises with Karthik and guides him to become a better and successful person. As Karthik follows the instructions his life changes over night. Not only does he gets Shonali whom he had been dreaming about since many years but also gets a chance to get even with his bully boss and gets a hot shot job profile for himself in the same company where he was insulted. The calls keep coming daily at 5 am and Karthik is happy having found a guide. The caller however cautions Karthik that he should not talk about this secret to anyone. But in a weak moment, Karthik makes the mistake and reveals about the calls to Shonali. He not only stops at that but on Shonali’s insistence avoids picking up further calls. What hell is unleashed on Karthik by the mysterious caller and how Karthik faces his demons forms the rest of the film.
